Women Economic Empowerment
Women economic empowerment is one way to achieve the social empowerment. In a country like Ethiopia where tradition plays the major role, women and girls face horrific cultural stigma most notably the Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage cause more harm in the long term in their lives. SGDA believes that economic empowerment of women in poor countries is crucial to fight the social problems. We are engaged in poor communities where house wives can occupy themselves in sheep raring and steer fattening to make them financial independent. In towns, SGDA supports small businesses owned by women to make them successful and competitive in the market.
Mrs. Bekelech Demisse, is here shown with business women encouraging and supporting their successes to reach all sector of the society as the course of women empowerment is all about one person at a time as each woman should drag the other woman next to her out of danger and poverty.
